When A Headshot Is Not Enough
The Executive Image Advisory
Your professional image may need to do more than update your LinkedIn profile.
The Executive Image Advisory is designed for professionals whose visibility, role or business has grown — and who need a more complete library of imagery to support it.
We begin with the bigger picture: where your images will be used, what they need to communicate, wardrobe, locations, settings and the overall visual direction of your brand.
From there, I design a custom session to create a broad array of imagery that tells the story of your personal brand.
This may include:
- Executive portraits • Environmental portraits • Website imagery
- Speaking & PR images • Personal brand imagery
- Multiple locations or settings
Custom engagements beginning at $1490
Recent Client Work
Most of my clients are established professionals and leaders whose roles have expanded — and who understand that how they are seen influences opportunity.
They have built meaningful careers and are stepping into greater visibility, influence, or responsibility. They want images that feel authentic. They want alignment.
Each session is thoughtfully guided, with attention to detail and posing direction, so the final images reflect credibility, clarity, and presence.
Headshot questions, answered
What's included in a headshot session?
Every session includes expert direction through posing, positioning and expression, so you are never left guessing. The Essential session is 20 minutes with one wardrobe look and one fully retouched image. The Signature session runs 60 minutes and adds professional hair and makeup, a planning consultation, up to three looks and two retouched images. Full details are in the pricing section above.
Should I practise posing beforehand?
No. Posing is handled during the session, and practising usually makes people more self-conscious rather than less. Expression and posture are directed in the moment — down to where the chin sits and what the hands are doing. Come as you are and let the direction do the work.
I hate having my photo taken. Does that matter?
Not at all, and most clients say exactly this before a session. The discomfort usually comes from not knowing what to do — where to look, what to do with your hands, whether you are smiling too much. That is precisely what guided direction removes. The people who dread it most are often the happiest with the result.
What should I wear?
Solid colours photograph best, and necklines that frame your face work better than busy patterns or logos. Bring more than one option if your session includes multiple looks. Think about where the image will be used — a LinkedIn profile, a company website and a press kit may not all call for the same thing.
Do I need to sort out hair and makeup beforehand?
It depends on the session. The Signature session includes professional hair and makeup, so nothing is needed in advance. For the Essential session, come camera-ready in whatever way you normally present yourself for work. Most people find that a slightly more defined version of their everyday look photographs best.
Should I smile or keep a serious expression?
Both get photographed. A relaxed smile reads as approachable and warm, while a neutral expression reads as authoritative and composed. Different roles call for different things, and you choose from the images rather than deciding in advance.
Are business and corporate headshots really that important?
When a potential client or candidate opens your company’s About page, the staff photos tell them something before they read a word. Mismatched, outdated or clearly self-taken photos suggest a business that does not attend to detail. A consistent set says the opposite. For individuals, your headshot is frequently the first time anyone sees you.
Do you photograph at the studio or on location?
Both. The studio in Mandeville is set up for controlled lighting and a consistent background, which matters when a whole team needs matching headshots. On-location sessions bring a mobile studio to your office anywhere across Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville, and surrounding areas, so your team is photographed without leaving the building.
How often should I update my headshot?
Every two years is a reasonable rhythm for most people, and sooner if your role, your look or your industry has changed. The photo people most regret is the one that no longer looks like them — colleagues notice, and it quietly undercuts everything else.
